Environmental Education and SDG Integration

At SRHU, environmental education is integrally embedded within academic instruction, research, and community engagement to promote sustainability and responsible citizenship. The University aligns its teaching, outreach, and institutional practices with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 3, 4, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 13, reflecting its commitment to sustainable development and climate action.

Integration of Environmental Sustainability in Academics

Environmental sustainability perspectives are incorporated through interdisciplinary curricula, research initiatives, workshops, and green campus practices.

A mandatory core course on Environmental Studies is offered to all undergraduate students in their first year, ensuring a foundational understanding of environmental issues, sustainability principles, and climate change.

The course highlights the interlinkages between climate change and the SDGs, fostering climate literacy, ethical awareness, and environmentally responsible behavior among students.
