Selection Criteria
- The Jury shall consider such proposals/nominations as have been received in the Secretariat up to and including 31st August of the year for which the Award is to be bestowed, unless the Chairman of the Jury is of the opinion that such time should be extended either in general or with reference to a particular proposal/nomination.
- Ordinarily, only proposals/nominations emanating from competent persons invited to nominate shall be considered. However, a proposal/nomination shall not be invalid for consideration by the Jury merely on the ground of not having emanated from competent persons. In all such cases, the decision of the Jury shall be final.
- No work shall be considered meritorious for the Award unless it is, in the opinion of the Jury, “outstanding” in promoting services in the fields of Economics, Environment, Science & Technology, Societal Issues and Spirituality having Global Impact for which H.H. Dr. Swami Rama had devoted his life.
- If, for the full assessment of a written and published work, the Jury considers it necessary to acquaint itself with its contents and is satisfied that the contents cannot be translated into English or Hindi without considerable constraints and expenses, then the Jury shall not be under obligation to give the proposal/nomination further consideration.
- The requisite scrutiny and final selection for the Award shall be made by the Jury.
- The decision of the Jury shall be by consensus and the decision of the Jury in evaluation of proposals/nominations shall be final and binding.
- The discussions, deliberations, opinions and proceedings of the Jury in connection with the Award shall not be made public or otherwise revealed.
- The Jury shall announce its decisions, as far as possible, one month prior to the anniversary of the Mahasamadhi of H.H. Dr. Swami Rama, observed on 13th November. The decision made by the Jury shall not be subject to confirmation by any other authority and no appeal or protest can be made against it.
