There was a sense of pride and privilege being part of the Pioneer batch of MBBS at HIMS.
During my time at the Medical College, I felt like the experience and learning were tailored to students' needs. The practical sessions at Himalayan Hospital gave us a solid understanding of physical examinations, patient care, and allowed us to get a good sense of every aspect of medicine to help us determine which field we would like to pursue for residency.
From where I stand today, I often reflect & realize that this would have been an impossible feat were it not for my professors' dedication, the university's support, and HIMS's undying commitment.

Purpose of education could be multifold, however for me the education and real life experiences at Himalayan Institute helped me to shape my life the way it is today. I was very fortunate to have been curated in medicine by an exemplary set of faculty right from pre and paraclinical subjects till the end of my internship.The post MBBS job that I took up with Rural Development Institute ( an affiliate) gave me an in-depth understanding of what wonders can a simple antifungal or Vitamin A dose can do to help change the sufferings of the rural population. I am forever indebted to Himalayan institute for that and much more. The patient exposure and the strong foundation laid in my medical career was the prime reason that I was able to start off my medical career in the United States with confidence.I realized that the overall mentorship I received in every medical subject over 4 years was at par and also in several ways much superior to any medical school across the globe.
