About CLIM
The Centre for Library and Information Management (CLIM) prepares future-ready professionals in Library and Information Science by integrating classical library principles with emerging information technologies. The Centre offers Bachelor’s and master’s programmes focused on information organization, digital libraries, knowledge management, and modern information systems.
Under the guidance of Prof. Yogendra Singh, Former Librarian (Senior Professor Scale) and Fulbright Scholar with over four decades of national and international experience—including DRDO, IIT Roorkee, the University of Maryland (USA), and the University of Alberta (Canada)—CLIM ensures a globally aligned, practice-oriented curriculum.

Highlights
The Centre for Library and Information Management (CLIM) has been established with an aim to prepare quality human resources in the area of Library and Information Sciences (LIS) which is fast becoming an amalgamation of traditional library theories and latest information technology. CLIM aims to achieve excellence in the field of Library and Information Management. The centre offers Bachelor’s and Master’s in Library and Information Science. The programs are based on the practices and underlying theories of information acquisition, organisation, dissemination and utilization.
The Centre functions under the overall guidance of Prof. Yogendra Singh, Ex-Librarian (Senior Professor Scale) and a Fulbright Scholar known for use of information technology is LIS. He has more than forty years of experience in LIS at national and international level including Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), IIT Roorkee, University of Maryland USA, University of Alberta Canada. Best possible curriculum based on the LIS in above institutions shall be developed.

Facilities
Academic Infrastructure: Well-equipped smart classrooms with ICT-enabled teaching aids, seminar halls, and computer laboratories support theoretical and practical components of Library Science education. The curriculum is delivered through interactive lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions.
Central Library and Learning Resources: The university has a well-established central library with a rich collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, theses, and dissertations. Students have access to OPAC, institutional repositories, and research databases to support academic and research activities.
Wi-Fi and Digital Access: The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing students seamless access to e-resources, online databases, e-journals, and digital repositories. Computer labs facilitate training in library automation software and digital information systems.

Digital Library Training Sessions: Regular training programmes and workshops are conducted on library automation, database searching, reference management tools, and use of digital libraries. Practical exposure is provided in areas such as metadata creation, cataloguing software, and institutional repository management.
Mentor–Mentee System: A structured mentor–mentee system is implemented to provide academic guidance, career counselling, and personal support. Faculty mentors monitor academic progress and assist students in professional skill development.
These facilities collectively ensure a comprehensive learning environment for Library and Information Science students at SRHU, integrating traditional librarianship with modern digital competencies.
Activities
The Swami Rama Himalayan University Library System, in association with the Centre for Library and Information Management (CLIM), organizes a wide range of academic and professional activities to enhance research and information competencies among students and faculty. These include workshops on library automation using Koha, training sessions on reference management tools such as Zotero and Mendeley, and author workshops in collaboration with publishers like Springer Nature, focusing on scientific writing and scholarly publishing. The library also conducts sessions on advanced database searching using Scopus, information literacy programmes, plagiarism awareness workshops, Faculty Development Programmes, orientation sessions for new students, and seminars on digital libraries, institutional repositories, bibliometrics, and research impact analysis, thereby strengthening digital skills, academic excellence, and research support services across the university.
