National Technology Day Celebrated at SRHU in collaboration with NASI

Swami Rama Himalayan University Jolly Grant (SRHU) hosted a lecture on National Technology Day, in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) Uttarakhand Chapter. Speakers emphasized the development of scientific thinking amongst students.

On Saturday, in the BC Roy Seminar Hall of the Medical College, Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Vice Chancellor of SRHU and President of the NASI Uttarakhand Chapter, delivered the lecture. He spoke about developing a scientific mindset and highlighted the role of visionary individuals in advancing scientific progress. He drew parallels with notable inventors like Newton, Einstein, Bell, Galileo, Fleming, and Edison, shedding light on the common traits shared by these pioneers. Dr. Dobhal mentioned that leading innovators possess a unique blend of qualities, including a refusal to follow traditional boundaries, an interest in problem-solving from various perspectives, and the capacity for metaphorical thinking. He emphasized the importance of cultivating a mindset that embraces experimentation, creativity, and adaptability to handle the complexities of the modern world. Earlier, Director of Research Cell Dr. Bindu Dey mentioned that the day is commemorated to remember the historic nuclear tests conducted in Pokhran in 1998, marking India's emergence as a nuclear power and showcasing its technological prowess to the world. She noted that this year, the day was celebrated under the broad theme of "School to Startups-Igniting Young Minds to Innovate." Registrar Mukesh Bijalwan, Dr. Mohit Verma, Dr. Ganesh, and students from the faculties of engineering, management, bioscience, pharmacy, yoga science, nursing, and the medical college were present on the occasion.
