Published on: February 21, 2026

The Institutional Research Committee of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NAAC A+) at Swami Rama Himalayan University organized a One-Day National Seminar titled “Manuscript Writing – From Initiation to Publication” on 21 February 2026 at the Adi Kailash Auditorium. The seminar aimed to enhance scientific writing competencies among researchers, faculty members, and postgraduate students by addressing research ethics, publication strategies, and modern scholarly tools.

The program commenced with registration, followed by a formal inaugural ceremony that included lamp lighting and invocation. Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Kothiyal, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, delivered the welcome address and emphasized the role of effective scientific writing in transforming research findings into impactful publications. Dr. Vijendra D. Chauhan, Director General – Academic Development, highlighted the importance of academic integrity, originality of data, and responsible research conduct. Prof. (Dr.) A. K. Deorari, Pro-Vice Chancellor, underscored the value of quality research publications and encouraged scholars to prioritize meaningful contributions over publication quantity.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Pramod Prasad from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, presented the national vision for strengthening research and innovation in India. He highlighted interdisciplinary collaboration, funding opportunities, and the importance of aligning research with national priorities and societal needs.

The technical sessions featured expert talks focusing on practical aspects of scientific manuscript preparation. Dr. Sachin K. Singh discussed structured thinking in manuscript development, emphasizing hypothesis formulation, logical data organization, and figure preparation. Dr. Shailesh Pandey provided insights into taxonomic publication processes, including species identification, molecular characterization, and responding to peer-review feedback.

Prof. Yogendra Singh conducted a hands-on session demonstrating the use of reference management tools such as Zotero and Mendeley for automated citation formatting, literature organization, and collaborative research writing. Dr. Priyank Purohit emphasized conceptual clarity in research communication, advocating for presenting a coherent scientific narrative rather than isolated datasets.

Interactive sessions throughout the seminar allowed participants to engage with speakers on journal selection, peer-review handling, and ethical publication practices. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Ganesh Kumar, acknowledging the contributions of speakers, organizers, and participants.

The seminar successfully enhanced awareness of national research initiatives, strengthened understanding of ethical publication practices, introduced modern writing tools, and equipped participants with structured approaches to scientific manuscript preparation.
