- Short Title & Commencement
- This Policy shall be called the “Policy for Non-Discrimination in Admissions” of Swami Rama Himalayan University.
- This Policy shall be deemed to have come into force from the date of approval of the Board of Management of the University.
- Purpose
- The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Swami Rama Himalayan University provides equal and fair access to educational opportunities for all applicants. The institution is committed to non-discrimination on the basis of race, colour, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, socioeconomic status, or any other status protected by law.
- Scope
- All undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional program admissions.
- All staff involved in admissions, recruitment, and evaluation.
- All official and unofficial communications, interviews, and selection processes related to student enrollment.
- Goals
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the student body.
- Eliminate bias or barriers in admissions processes.
- Ensure compliance with national laws and regulations regarding non-discrimination.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Implementation Measures
- Admission Criteria
- Academic qualifications, achievements, and potential shall be the primary basis for admission decisions.
- Standardized, transparent criteria for selection will be applied consistently across all applicants.
- Additional considerations, such as extracurricular involvement or special talents, may be applied only if clearly documented and non-discriminatory.
- Recruitment and Outreach
- Recruitment materials shall promote equal opportunity and reflect the institution’s commitment to diversity.
- Outreach activities shall target a broad and diverse applicant pool to encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
- Application Process
- Admissions staff shall receive training on unconscious bias and equitable evaluation.
- All applications are reviewed according to predefined rubrics and objective criteria.
- Personal information unrelated to academic evaluation (e.g., gender, religion, ethnicity) shall not influence decisions unless part of legally recognized affirmative action programs.
- Reasonable Accommodation
- Applicants with disabilities or special needs shall be provided with reasonable accommodations during the application and assessment process.

- All staff involved in admissions must adhere to this policy.
- Any violations, bias, or discriminatory practices will be investigated and addressed according to institutional disciplinary procedures.
- This policy shall be reviewed every three years or earlier if required to accommodate new educational practices, regulatory requirements, or emerging student needs.
- The University reserves the right to interpret, alter, amend, modify, cancel or withdraw any or all provision mentioned herein above in this policy without any notice.
- In case of any dispute, the decision of the Vice Chancellor of the University shall be final and binding.
