To give our students an edge over the others, we have collaborated with IBM (in the areas of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Dev Ops, and Data Science). We have also signed MoU with Uttarakhand Space Application Centre, a nodal center of ISRO. Our School has taken membership of Computer Society of India (CSI) and established a student chapter of CSI. Through this chapter students participate in various technical & non-technical activities at national level.
In keeping with the mission of holistic growth of students in our University, students are also encouraged to participate actively in the yoga & meditation classes along with other cultural activities. The University makes a conscious effort to remain closely connected with the Industry and makes required revisions in its curriculum from time to time. Our laboratories are equally well-equipped & sophisticated, designed with the latest technology to facilitate practical exposure, in tune with the need and aspirations of students, as well as, the demands of the industry.
Over a period of time, we have also been successful in winning the trust of reputed Companies like IBM, Wipro Technologies, Cogniziant, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Deloitte, Hitachi Systems, Rubico IT BYJU’S, Concentrix, Extramarks, Ozone Overseas Ltd., JBM, Suavao etc. as our students are recruited by the Placement Drives.
HSST’s placement support has excellent links with industry and leading institutions making it a top B.Tech college in Dehradun. It also provides ‘Summer Internship’ and 100% placement support has resulted in students securing placements with good packages. Rupees Ten lakh per annum being the highest package so far.
Department of Computer Science & Engineering
The aim of the department is to contribute towards the advancement of Computational Technologies and provide industry with skilled resources in engineering and other fields requiring computing skills. It strives to impart high quality technical education in theory, design, development and application of Computer Systems and Information Processing techniques. We also have a collaboration with IBM for joint teaching and certification in niche areas of IT such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Dev Ops and Data Science.
Exposure is given to the students in various fields – from Microsoft valuable licensing subscription to Visual Studio 2012, Dos Box, GCC, Turbo C along with MSDN academic alliance. Students have access to well-furnished laboratories with modern & advanced infrastructure and a wide range of licensed software (such as MySQL 2012 express edition, Tally-9, Turbo C++, JDK, Visual Studio Professional 2012, WAMP-2.5, Cisco packet tracer v6.0.1) that provide a distributed computing environment.
These laboratories are set on Unix environment with different operating systems viz. Centos, and Fedora (by Red Hat), IBM Rack Mounted servers, and state-of- the-art hardware.
Students are guided by competent faculty involved in high quality research in the field of Database and Information Systems, Programming Languages, Computer Networks and Distributed Systems, Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering etc.
