Advancing Radiology: RICON-24 Explores Neuroradiology and Fetal Imaging
14th annual State Conference on Radiology and Imaging (RICON-24), Uttarakhand chapter, was conducted at Himalayan institute of medical sciences, Dehradun under the aegis of Indian Radiological and imaging association on 30th November and 1st December 2024. It was conducted by department of radiology and imaging sciences with a theme of ” Neuroradiology and Fetal Radiology “.
The conference commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by the introduction and felicitation of the chief guest Dr. Rajendra Dobhal (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SRHU), Dr. Vijendra Chauhan (Director General- Academic Development SRHU) & Dr. A. K Deorari (Principal HIMS). An inspiring inaugural address was delivered, emphasizing the importance of innovation in education.
Tackling the challenges today with workable and modern solutions is the most pressing need of the hour. That is precisely why, organizing Chairman Dr S Raghuvanshi and organizing secretary Dr Prachi Kala from department of radiology, HIMS, ensured that every single lecture, presentation, and event that took place during the 14th RICON -24, was delivered by experts in the field.
Expert Fetal Radiologist Dr Pradeep Srinivasan from Bangalore, and Neuroradiologists, Dr Sharath Kumar and Dr Sarbesh Tiwari from Bangalore and AIIMS Jodhpur respectively were invited. Apart from knowledge-dissemination the conference was aimed at propagating the latest expertise and know-how. All those who attended were directly or indirectly in the discipline of Radiology and Imaging. It brought together about more than 100 radiologists from the state and nearby areas.
Organizing secretary Dr Prachi kala believed that in order to play an active part in the progress of Radiology the key is to foster its spirit of community. The Conference featured networking events where participants got to engage with their peers, get advice from speakers and other presenter’s questions, and rub shoulders with the academic elite in their respective specializations.
