On 6th March 2025, the Himalayan School of Science and Technology (HSST), Swami Rama Himalayan University, conducted a guest lecture at Government Polytechnic College, Narendranagar. Themed “AI Significance in Today’s Era,” the session was led by Dr. Ashutosh Bhatt, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The event aimed to enhance awareness among students and faculty about the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in various industries and everyday life.
Dr. Bhatt introduced foundational AI concepts such as machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing, while highlighting their practical applications in fields like healthcare, transportation, education, and finance. He also addressed concerns related to ethical challenges, data privacy, and the effects of automation on future job markets, pointing out the growing demand for professionals in AI oversight, maintenance, and policy. With more than 150 participants, the session sparked engaging discussions during the Q&A segment, reflecting the enthusiasm of students keen to learn about AI career pathways.
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Shri Rajesh Kumar, Principal of Govt. Polytechnic College, who appreciated HSST’s initiative in promoting academic collaboration. This guest lecture not only deepened students’ understanding of AI but also encouraged them to explore learning resources and open-source projects, contributing to their career readiness in a tech-driven world.
