Interactive Session with Dr. Manish Grover at SPS, SRHU

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University, organized a day-long session with Dr. Manish Grover, Visiting Professor and Former CEO of Aurea Biolabs Pvt. Ltd., Ernakulam, Kerala, on 11th October 2025. The program aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial application by exposing students to real-world pharmaceutical practices, research ethics, and good laboratory practices (GLP). The event commenced with a welcome and felicitation of the guest by Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Kothiyal, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who encouraged students to pursue professional excellence, ethical discipline, and individuality in their careers.

In his keynote address on “Industries’ Expectations from Pharmacy Graduates,” Dr. Grover inspired students with his 25 years of experience in formulation development, R&D, and production operations. He emphasized that education should be a foundation for innovation and ethical practice rather than merely a means to employment. With his professional motto—“Solving problems is good, but preventing problems is great”—he urged students to focus on foresight, clarity, curiosity, and creativity as essential qualities for career success. Through interactive discussions and a Mentimeter activity, he guided students to understand industry expectations, the importance of continuous learning, and the need to unlearn outdated mindsets. Dr. Grover reminded students that hard work, adaptability, and competence are the keys to thriving in a dynamic and digital-driven pharmaceutical landscape.

The afternoon session, titled “Including GLP in Everyday Teaching,” was a practical workshop held in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory. Dr. Grover emphasized the critical role of Good Laboratory Practices in ensuring accuracy, reliability, and integrity of scientific data. During the hands-on titration exercise, he highlighted how minor procedural errors can affect data quality and reinforced that GLP principles should be ingrained in daily academic and professional conduct. His powerful remark, “GLP is the compass that guides every laboratory safely through the sea of experiments,” resonated strongly with both students and faculty, emphasizing discipline and ethical responsibility as the foundation of scientific excellence.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students sought insights on career planning, research prospects, and industry expectations. A vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Rahul Pandey, expressing heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Grover for his inspiring mentorship and to Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Kothiyal for her visionary leadership. The sessions proved to be intellectually enriching and deeply motivational, leaving students inspired to pursue their careers with integrity, curiosity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
