Two-Day Guest Lecture on “Your Future is Dependent on Your Habits” Empowers MBA Students
On the 4th and 5th of December 2024, the Himalayan School of Management Studies (HSMS) at Swami Rama Himalayan University hosted a two-day guest lecture titled “Your Future is Dependent on Your Habits” for the MBA third-semester students. The lecture was delivered by Mr. A.P. Parigi, Chairperson of the HSMS Business Advisory Council and a distinguished business leader known for his corporate expertise and entrepreneurial insights. The event took place at KLT-8 on the third floor of HSMS and was convened by Dr. Gargi Pant Shukla.
The lecture aimed to motivate students to reflect on and improve their daily habits by understanding their pivotal role in shaping long-term career success and personal growth. Mr. Parigi emphasized the importance of self-discipline, routine, and focused effort as foundational elements that lead to sustained excellence. Through his engaging narrative, he connected the science of habit formation with practical strategies for behavioral change, helping students appreciate the compound effect of consistent positive actions.
During the sessions, Mr. Parigi discussed the psychology behind habits, advocated building effective morning routines, and encouraged students to eliminate time-wasting behaviors. He shared inspiring real-life examples of successful individuals whose disciplined habits contributed to their transformational achievements. Students were guided to set achievable micro-goals and regularly evaluate their progress, fostering a growth mindset centered on resilience and purpose. Mr. Parigi’s message resonated with the idea that excellence is a habit formed through conscious effort over time.
The second day concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students actively engaged with questions on overcoming procrastination, managing distractions—especially digital habits—balancing ambition with personal well-being, and maintaining motivation amid peer pressure. Mr. Parigi offered practical advice and tools aimed at enhancing personal productivity and emotional regulation.
The lecture successfully raised awareness about the power of small, consistent actions and inspired students to take ownership of their routines. It provided them with actionable insights to cultivate personal excellence and aligned well with HSMS’s vision of holistic student development. Overall, the event left a lasting impact, empowering students to build habits that will support their future professional and personal success.
