On 16th November 2024, the Himalayan School of Science and Technology (HSST), Swami Rama Himalayan University, successfully organized LEAP AHEAD 2.0, an engaging and interactive outreach event focused on emerging technologies and entrepreneurship. This exclusive initiative targeted students of B.Tech(2nd and 3rd year), BCA (Section A), and MCA (1st and 2nd year), and was aimed at bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world technological and entrepreneurial challenges.
The event brought together students, mentors, and industry professionals to foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence. Keynote addresses were delivered by Shri Maneesh Kumar, Additional Director and Officer-in-Charge of STPI-Dehradun, and Dr. Pramod Kumar, Principal of HSST. Both speakers emphasized the importance of staying abreast of technological trends and leveraging such knowledge to fuel career advancement and startup innovation. They underscored the significance of mentorship, industry collaboration, and institutional support in shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs and technology leaders.
LEAP AHEAD 2.0 served multiple objectives: it provided expert mentorship, introduced funding opportunities for budding entrepreneurs, and offered valuable insights into the dynamics of scaling startups. It also fostered an environment where students could freely engage with professionals, receive practical guidance, and develop a clearer vision for their career trajectories. One of the key highlights was the encouragement given to entrepreneurial development, with detailed discussion on funding opportunities up to INR 1 crore for scalable ventures.
The event witnessed the participation of 105 students who benefitted from the thoughtful deliberations and knowledge-sharing sessions. Attendees reported increased confidence and interest in exploring entrepreneurial ventures, along with a better understanding of how to navigate the evolving tech landscape. In addition, the event facilitated meaningful industry-student connections and laid the groundwork for future collaborations.
