The Himalayan School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a constituent academic unit of Swami Rama Himalayan University, successfully organized an insightful and interactive session on October 10, 2025, under its flagship initiative, “Learning from the Peers – Climbing the Success Ladder.” The event aimed to promote professional learning through peer interaction and exposure to real-world experiences, inspiring students to excel in the pharmaceutical field.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Kothiyal, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who emphasized the importance of peer learning and professional networking. Mr. Rahul Pandey, Assistant Professor, introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Madhav Vaishnava, Product Quality & Safety Executive at Roche Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai. Dr. Kothiyal felicitated the speaker and highlighted the significance of ethics, quality, and adaptability in the evolving pharmaceutical industry.
Mr. Vaishnava delivered an engaging keynote session, sharing his academic and professional journey from Jamia Hamdard University to the University of Bologna, Italy, and his global experiences in pharmaceutical biotechnology. His talk covered key topics such as regulatory affairs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), pharmacovigilance, and risk management, emphasizing the importance of patient safety and ethical vigilance. He also discussed Roche’s diagnostics operations and the global impact of quality and safety standards in healthcare.
The interactive Q&A session allowed students to explore career prospects in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance, while Mr. Vaishnava encouraged them to pursue continuous learning and international exposure. He also shared video messages from his colleagues abroad, offering students valuable insights into global pharmacy practices.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Rahul Pandey, appreciating the guest speaker, faculty members, and students for their participation. The session proved to be highly informative and motivational, inspiring students to embrace professionalism, innovation, and lifelong learning as they prepare for successful careers in the pharmaceutical sciences.
