On 10th April 2025, the Himalayan School of Science & Technology (HSST) organized a seminar on WordPress specifically for students of the Computer Science & Engineering department. The session was conducted by Dr. Gaurav Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Technology. The seminar aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), focusing on both foundational concepts and practical applications.
During the seminar, attendees explored how CMS platforms operate and their significance in efficiently managing and publishing digital content across diverse sectors such as business, education, and media. WordPress, as a leading CMS platform, was highlighted for its core features, user-friendly interface, and flexibility in creating dynamic websites. Beyond WordPress, the seminar also touched upon other CMS alternatives, broadening the participants’ perspective on the options available in the digital content management space.
The session included interactive discussions, practical demonstrations, and real-time examples that helped students grasp the technical aspects effectively. Participants actively engaged by sharing insights and asking questions, making the seminar a collaborative learning experience. The event concluded with a Q&A session, allowing attendees to clarify their doubts and deepen their understanding.
The primary objective of the seminar was to equip students with a solid foundational knowledge of CMS, explore real-world applications, and present a comparative overview of different platforms.
With 18 participants, the seminar proved successful in enhancing students’ understanding of CMS technologies. Attendees gained confidence in using WordPress and other CMS tools for academic, personal, and professional projects. Overall, the seminar empowered students with practical skills and awareness to contribute effectively to the evolving digital content ecosystem.
