Session on Gender Sensitization

A Gender Sensitization session was organized by the Himalayan School of Science and Technology (HSST), Swami Rama Himalayan University, on 5th August 2024 for the newly admitted students of HSST. The session was delivered by Ms. Neelam Danu, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, with 54 students participating. It aimed to encourage a profound understanding of gender equality and the importance of gender sensitization. Ms. Neelam Danu discussed the significance of promoting equality and understanding between genders. She highlighted the need for individuals and institutions to recognize and challenge gender biases, stereotypes, and discrimination, fostering a more inclusive and respectful society for everyone regardless of gender identity.

The objective of this session was to create awareness and foster a deeper understanding of gender equality, challenging stereotypes and addressing biases that contribute to discrimination and inequality. It promoted respect, empathy, and fairness among individuals, encouraging inclusive attitudes and behaviors across all genders. Through education and dialogue, gender sensitization seeks to build a more equitable and respectful environment in both personal and professional settings.

The session successfully encouraged students to adopt inclusive attitudes and contribute to building a respectful and equitable environment for all, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and challenging gender biases at both individual and institutional levels.
