The School of Science & Technology organized an insightful session titled ‘Yoga and Mental Health’ on 15th May 2025 for the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) second-semester students. The session focused on raising awareness about the importance of mental well-being and demonstrated how yoga can be an effective tool to manage stress and improve overall mental health. An experienced yoga practitioner and mental health advocate led the session, sharing valuable knowledge on the relationship between physical postures, breathing techniques, and emotional balance. Students were introduced to simple yoga practices and mindfulness techniques that can be easily incorporated into their daily routines. The interactive nature of the session encouraged active student participation, with many expressing a keen interest in using yoga to cope with academic pressures and enhance their concentration. The session concluded with a guided meditation, leaving the participants refreshed and motivated. The event was well-received and served as a meaningful step toward promoting healthier and more balanced lifestyles among students.
The primary objective of this session was to promote awareness of mental well-being and introduce yoga as a practical method to manage stress. It aimed to equip students with easy-to-adopt yoga postures and mindfulness practices to enhance emotional balance, concentration, and resilience against academic stress.
With 50 participants, the session yielded positive results as students gained a deeper understanding of the connection between physical health and mental wellness. The enthusiasm shown by participants during practical demonstrations reflected their readiness to include yoga and mindfulness in their daily lives to better manage stress, improve focus, and maintain emotional equilibrium.
