State-Level Nursing Conference Empowers Future-Ready Leaders
The Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Uttarakhand branch, in collaboration with Himalayan College of Nursing, SRHU, successfully organized the 1st State Conference on “Nursing Leadership 2025: Transforming Clinical Nursing through Education & Research” on 17th and 18th June 2025. The conference aimed to strengthen clinical nursing by promoting leadership development, evidence-based practice, and deeper integration between education and healthcare services.
A total of 346 participants from across India, including states such as Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, registered for this landmark event.
The two-day conference was graced by the esteemed presence of key dignitaries and nursing leaders. In his address, Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, Hon’ble President of SRHU, emphasized that “Nursing Leadership 2025 is not just a theme—it’s a commitment to empower clinical nursing through the pillars of education and research, shaping the future of healthcare.”
Dr. Ashok K Deorari, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SRHU, described the conference as a pivotal step toward advancing clinical nursing through the integration of cutting-edge education and impactful research. Dr. Manisha Dhyani, Registrar of the Uttarakhand Nursing and Midwives Council (UKNMC), affirmed the council’s support in nurturing compassionate and competent nursing leaders through quality education.
National and state representatives of TNAI, including Mrs. Sangmitra Sawant, Deputy General Secretary (National), and Dr. Lalita Bisht, President of TNAI Uttarakhand, highlighted the importance of education and research in empowering nurses to elevate care standards.
Dr. Sanchita Pugazhendhi, Principal of HCN, envisioned the conference as a platform for educators to inspire and prepare future nurse leaders. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Organizing Secretary and Secretary of TNAI Uttarakhand, reiterated the association’s commitment to nurturing nursing leadership for a better healthcare future.
The event also recognized excellence in the field of nursing through prestigious awards. Dr. Sylvia Rajkumari Devi, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Prasuna Jaily, Dr. Grace Madonna Singh, Jaibunisha, and Sudha Tiwari were honoured with the Clinical Excellence Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Dr. Sanchita Pugazhendhi, Maya Bisht, Ranjana Walia, Suman Lata Pathak, and Anuradha Sharma for their remarkable contributions to nursing education and practice.
The conference served as a vibrant platform to foster collaboration among educators, clinicians, and researchers, contributing significantly to the vision of a future-ready nursing workforce dedicated to innovation and patient-centered care.
