The Student Orientation Program for the 2024–25 session at HSST was conducted from 1st to 14th August 2024, commencing with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony that symbolized the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. An inspiring welcome address was delivered by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar. Over the course of two enriching weeks, approximately 250 students were introduced to the institution’s values, academic expectations, and diverse opportunities through sessions led by esteemed faculty, industry experts, and alumni. Key highlights included talks on the Code of Conduct, cybersecurity, gender sensitization, and the importance of human values, as well as interactive sessions on communication, hygiene, IT, and career development. Creative and recreational activities such as open mic events, indoor games, and talent competitions like debates, quizzes, and art contests fostered community spirit and showcased student potential.
The program successfully achieved its goal of integrating new students into the academic and cultural fabric of the institution. Through a dynamic blend of academic sessions, expert talks, interactive workshops, recreational activities, and registration procedures, students gained a comprehensive understanding of HSST’s ethos, expectations, and opportunities. It fostered a strong sense of belonging, encouraged holistic development, and promoted core values such as integrity, innovation, and teamwork. Sessions on cyber security, communication, gender sensitization, personal hygiene, IT, and emerging technologies enriched students’ knowledge and awareness, while competitions and open-mic events provided platforms for talent exploration and self-expression. By the end of the program, students felt motivated, informed, and empowered to embark on their academic journey with confidence and enthusiasm, marking the orientation as a well-rounded and impactful experience.
