SRHU School of Biosciences is an academic unit with a vision to become a renowned institution by inculcating scientific temper and values among learners in thrust areas of biological sciences. The School of Biosciences offers life science courses and is committed to translational research, impact, and industrial application with a substantial portfolio of enterprise, activity, and expertise. At present, the school is offering comprehensive undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in cutting-edge and socially relevant disciplines such as: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Environmental Sciences. The school seeks to provide a high-quality teaching and learning experience in leading-edge areas of biosciences, cultivating a comprehensive perspective to nurture top-tier human resource. Scientific Advisor, SRHU

Dr Chandra Shekhar Nautiyal

Dr Chandra Shekhar Nautiyal, Ph. D. in Microbiology worked for about ten years at the United States Department of Agriculture, Maryland, USA; Laval University, Quebec, Canada, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, Novartis Biotechnology Corporation, North Carolina, USA., and at American Biotech. Inc., Boston, USA. Dr. Nautiyal joined CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (CSIR-NBRI), Lucknow. Besides being the Director of CSIR-NBRI, he has the unique distinction of having additional charge of Director of two other CSIR Institutes, CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) and CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR). CSIR-NBRI and CSIR-CIMAP developed an NBRMAP-DB, an anti-diabetic, hypoglycemic formulation with hepato-protective and antioxidant properties. The Union Science and Technology Ministry praised it as a major achievement of CSIR. Dr. Nautiyal works on innovative devices and technologies useful in microbiology, food preservation, orthopedics, and cancer at Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun. Dr. Nautiyal's research has been documented in about 140 articles and 70 patents (published/awarded). Dr. Nautiyal has transferred nine technologies to commercialize products in the USA and India. He has served on many prestigious National committees and has been awarded ten prestigious national awards for his contributions, including the TATA Innovation Fellow and J. C. Bose National Fellow. Three of the most prestigious Indian science academies have elected Dr. Nautiyal as their fellow: the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), and the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS).
