DHR-Sponsored Advanced Molecular Biology Training at SRHU

Published on: February 28, 2026

A four-week DHR-sponsored Training Program on Modern Biology: Advanced Molecular Tools for Healthcare: A Comprehensive Training Module was successfully conducted at the School of Biosciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University, with the aim of enhancing technical and research skills of students and young researchers. 30 participants from 6 Institutions participated in the training program.

The program provided intensive hands on training in molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, PCR, semi qPCR, RT PCR, cloning, protein analysis, and animal cell culture, followed by advanced sessions on bioinformatics including sequence alignment, phylogenetic analysis, protein structure prediction, and molecular visualization using modern computational tools.

Participants also received hands-on exposure to scientific writing tools, plagiarism detection and prevention, citation and reference management, and literature review resources, strengthening their academic integrity and research communication skills.

Special sessions on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications in healthcare highlighted their advantages, real-world use cases, and ethical concerns. Data visualization and data mining using the Orange tool enabled participants to understand healthcare data through machine learning approaches.

The workshop was enriched by expert lectures from distinguished external resource persons including Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Founder Director, Enparis Bio Private ltd, Dr. Kshipra Chauhan (Assistant Professor, Gujrat Technological University, Ahmedabad),  who delivered sessions on protein structure and bioinformatics tools; Dr. Rohit Saluja (Associate Professor, AIIMS Hyderabad), who provided practical training on scientific writing and bioinformatics applications; and Dr. Anupama Mishra, who conducted sessions on AI and IoT in healthcare analytics. Their guidance significantly enhanced the quality and depth of learning.

The program concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony graced by Chief Guest Ms. Manju Nautiyal, who inspired participants through her motivational address on self-optimization and holistic development. Participants shared their feedback describing the workshop as a transformative academic and emotional journey. Certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their dedication.

The workshop successfully integrated biology with digital technologies and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting advanced interdisciplinary training programs in the future.
