The 6th meeting of the University Research Advisory Board (URAB) was held on 28th May 2026 (Thursday) at the HIMS Conference Hall, Swami Rama Himalayan University. The meeting was chaired and co-chaired by Prof Rakesh Bhatnagar, National Science Chair, SERB, DST, & Former Vice-Chancellor, Banares Hindu University and Dr V M Katoch, Former DG ICMR, & NASI-ICMR Chair, Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur respectively. Other members include Dr Madhu Dixit, Former Director, CDRI-CSIR, Lucknow, Prof NK Arora,ED, The INCLEN Trust International, Faridabad, Dr Neerja Bhatla, Padma Shri & Former HOD, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, AIIMS, New Delhi, Prof. Bidhu K. Mohanti, Emeritus Professor and Consultant in Radiation Oncology, Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre & Research Institute, Bhubaneswar, India. Dr Amit Mehdiratta, School of Biomedical Engineering, IIT Delhi, Dr Sadhana Srivastava, Former Scientist G ICMR, New Delhi, Dr Shashi Bala Singh, Former Director, NIPER, Telangana, Dr Anand Koppikker, Breast Surgeon, Founder Prashanti Cancer Care Mission & Center for Cancer Translation Research. Our Emeritus Professor Dr Kiran Katoch, Former Director, JALMA, Agara joined as a Special Invitee. Some members, Dr Subhra Chakraborty, Distinguished Scientist & Former Director NIPGR, New Delhi, Dr Arvind Saklani, Vice President, Agribiotechnology, Sami-Sabinsa Group Ltd. Bengaluru, Dr Pradip Majumdar, M/s Canfinis, Boston & ex-faculty Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard, joined the meeting online.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SRHU Dr Rajendra Dobhal formally welcomed the members and opened the meeting for research collaboration at the national and international levels.
URAB, being the apex research governance body of the University, provides strategic guidance for promoting world-class research, innovation, translational research, and product development.
Under the guidance of URAB, the University has achieved significant milestones over the last two years, including the creation of nearly 200 intellectual properties (IPs), publication of around 500 research articles annually, and a steady increase in the enrolment of PhD scholars, reflecting the growing research ecosystem and academic excellence of the University in the domain of research and development.
