On the occasion of National Cancer Awareness Day, the School of Science & Technology (SST), in collaboration with the Cancer Research Institute (CRI), Swami Rama Himalayan University, organized an Awareness Lecture on Cancer Care on 4th February 2026. The program was conducted in alignment with the World Cancer Day 2026 theme, “United by Unique,” which emphasizes a people‑centered, compassionate, and holistic approach to cancer care.
The session began with an introduction to the importance of cancer awareness, followed by an informative talk on Cancer Awareness by Dr. Vipul Nautiyal, Professor & Head, Radiation Oncology, Cancer Research Institute, Swami Rama Himalayan University. He began with an introduction to the importance of cancer awareness and delivered an engaging talk on cancer risk factors, early detection, prevention, and the need for timely and compassionate care. He also emphasized the role of cancer-preventive vaccinations, particularly the HPV vaccine for females and adolescents, and sensitized students about eliminating stigma and supporting individuals affected by cancer.
The activity improved student’s understanding of cancer awareness and motivated them to take an active role in promoting prevention, empathy, and responsible health practices.
