Children’s Day Visit to NIEPVD
The School of Biosciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University, visited the Primary Wing of NIEPVD, Dehradun, on 14 November 2025 to celebrate Children’s Day as part of its social responsibility initiative. Coordinated by Dr. Ajeet Gairola and warmly supported by Principal Amit Sharma and the NIEPVD staff, the visit aimed to create an inclusive and joyful experience for the children. Biosciences students prepared handcrafted tactile greeting cards with clay designs, ensuring each child received a personalized card they could feel and explore. Engaging activities, including a fun “Identify the Animal Sound” game, brought excitement and laughter. The children were also encouraged to express themselves through poems, songs, and short recitations, creating a warm space for confidence and creativity. The visit fostered meaningful interaction, with NIEPVD children participating enthusiastically and SRHU students gaining valuable insights into empathy, inclusion, and communication with visually impaired children. The experience strengthened the bond between both institutions and inspired future collaborative efforts.
