Department of Clinical Research Hosts Insightful Lecture on Ethics in Clinical Practice

On August 5, 2024, the Department of Clinical Research at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Swami Rama Himalayan University, organized an engaging lecture titled “Ethics in Clinical Practice”. The session was expertly facilitated by Dr. Pragya Tripathi and attended by 15 healthcare professionals and students.

The lecture emphasized the critical role of ethics in clinical care, focusing on key principles such as patient autonomy, confidentiality, beneficence, and non-maleficence. Dr. Tripathi discussed common ethical challenges faced by clinicians, including informed consent, maintaining patient confidentiality, and balancing medical responsibilities with patient rights.

Through real-life case studies and interactive discussions, participants gained practical insights into ethical decision-making and the importance of fostering a culture of integrity and compassion within healthcare settings.

The session successfully heightened awareness of ethical standards in clinical practice and inspired attendees to advocate for continuous ethical education and improved patient care protocols.
