Environmental Studies Field Visit to Herbal Garden organized by SST, SRHU

As part of the Environmental Studies curriculum, the School of Science & Technology (SST), Swami Rama Himalayan University organized a field visit for B.Tech CSE/AI&ML/DS&ML/Cyber Security (I Semester) students to the Herbal Garden within the SRHU campus on 11th December 2025. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the rich diversity of medicinal and aromatic plants and their academic, research, and therapeutic significance. During the visit, students were introduced to various plant species, their botanical features, ecological requirements, and medicinal properties, along with their traditional and modern applications in Ayurveda, naturopathy, and pharmaceuticals. Students actively observed natural habitat conditions, documented morphological characteristics, interacted with garden staff to understand cultivation, propagation, and conservation practices, and captured photographs to support their academic assignments. Overall, the visit offered a valuable hands-on learning experience, enhancing students’ understanding of biodiversity conservation, sustainable use of plant resources, and the vital role of medicinal plants in human health and well-being.
