Guest Lecture on “Preventing AIDS Through Awareness” Observed on World AIDS Day by SST, SRHU

The School of Science Technology, SRHU, organized an informative Guest Lecture on the occasion of World AIDS Day titled “Preventing AIDS Through Awareness,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Alka Aggarwal, Professor, Department of Anatomy, HIMS. The session focused on promoting awareness about HIV/AIDS, preventive measures, and the importance of responsible health practices. The lecture began with an introduction to the significance of World AIDS Day, followed by Prof. Aggarwal’s insightful discussion on the global burden of HIV/AIDS, modes of transmission, effective prevention strategies, and the importance of early testing and timely treatment. She also emphasized the need to eliminate stigma, support individuals living with HIV, and adopt safe health practices. Her clear explanations helped students understand the theme and dispelled common myths associated with HIV/AIDS. The session significantly enhanced students’ awareness and encouraged them to become informed, empathetic advocates of health and social responsibility, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in combating HIV/AIDS.
