The Himalayan Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (HCIE), in collaboration with the Himalayan School of Science & Technology (HSST), successfully conducted a two-day Entrepreneurial Bootcamp on 25th and 29th March 2025. The initiative was aimed at igniting innovative thinking and nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among students through immersive learning experiences.
The bootcamp commenced with engaging icebreakers and thought-provoking activities designed to challenge conventional thinking. Mr. Kshitij Mishra, in his opening remarks, introduced the concept of entrepreneurship, drawing a distinction between textbook definitions and its real-world practice. He highlighted the pressing need for an innovation-driven entrepreneurial culture in India and stressed that academic knowledge must translate into actionable ideas.
The highlight of the session was a keynote address by Dr. Amjad Hussain, who captivated the audience with his deep insights into innovation, startup ecosystems, and business models. Using practical examples, he elaborated on key metrics, customer segmentation, and sustainable growth strategies vital for budding entrepreneurs. His talk empowered students to think critically about problem-solving and value creation in the startup landscape.
A total of 80 students (40 from B.Tech and 40 from BCA) actively participated in the bootcamp. The sessions were highly interactive, with students brainstorming, asking questions, and exploring the dynamics of entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Swati Rawat, who acknowledged the efforts of the resource persons in broadening students’ perspectives and inspiring future innovators.
By blending creativity with practical guidance, the bootcamp served as a foundational step toward building a vibrant innovation ecosystem at SRHU. It has set the stage for more such initiatives to empower students in their entrepreneurial journeys.
