The School of Science & Technology successfully organized an online session titled “IEEE Student Branch Development: Strategies for Engagement and Impact” on March 8, 2026 for the members of the IEEE SRHU Student Branch. The session commenced at 5:00 PM onwards through Google Meet with the objective of guiding IEEE student members on strengthening student branch activities and enhancing engagement in IEEE initiatives.
The session was delivered by Pooja Sharma, Ph.D. Scholar. MNNIT Allahabad, who serves as IEEE AP-S CSC Volunteer, IEEE MTT-S Student Ambassador (2024, 2025), WIE Day Ambassador (2024, 2025), and Recipient of the Outstanding Uttar Pradesh Section Volunteer Award 2024. The speaker shared her valuable experiences in IEEE volunteering and highlighted effective strategies for the growth and development of IEEE Student Branches.
During the session, participants were introduced to various approaches for increasing student membership, organizing impactful technical and professional events, and building collaborations with other IEEE Student Branches, chapters, and affinity groups. The speaker also emphasized the importance of leadership, teamwork, and active participation in IEEE activities for professional growth and networking. Special emphasis was given to utilizing opportunities offered by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and the importance of strengthening Student Branch Chapters. The speaker appreciated the initiative taken towards starting the RAS Student Branch Chapter at the IEEE SRHU Student Branch and encouraged students to actively participate in IEEE programs and volunteering activities.
The session proved to be highly informative and motivating for the participants, providing them with valuable insights into IEEE opportunities, leadership development, and professional networking. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting technical engagement and professional development among students.
