Industrial Visit to Flex Foods Limited by School of Biosciences
The School of Biosciences, Swami Rama Himalayan University, organized an industrial visit to Flex Foods Limited, Lal Tappar Industrial Area, Dehradun, on 6th September 2025. A total of 11 students from the B.Sc. Food Science and Technology program, accompanied by a faculty member, participated in this educational tour.
The visit began with a warm welcome by Mr. Vipul Kala, Head-Production, who introduced the company’s operations specializing in frozen and freeze-dried food products. The students were given a detailed tour of the production unit, gaining practical exposure to Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) Technology and Freeze Drying of Herbs, learning about advanced processes that preserve quality, nutrition, and flavor in food products.
This industrial visit helped students connect classroom learning with real-world applications, particularly in food preservation, processing technology, and quality assurance. The interaction with technical experts also provided insights into operational workflows and hygiene standards in the food industry. The School of Biosciences extended gratitude to Mr. Vishnu Tyagi, Head-HR, and University authorities for facilitating this enriching experience.
