Insights into Giant Cell Lesions of Bone Shared at Pathology Lecture

Published on: January 21, 2025

The Department of Pathology at Swami Rama Himalayan University hosted an enlightening guest lecture on January 21, 2025, titled “Giant Cell Lesions of Bone.” The session was delivered by Dr. Nidhi Verma, Professor of Pathology at LLRM Medical College, Meerut.

Dr. Verma offered a comprehensive overview of giant cell-rich lesions of bone, focusing on the differential diagnosis based on age, anatomical site, and patient gender. She guided participants through key morphological features that distinguish various entities within this group, helping pathologists refine their diagnostic approach in complex cases.

The lecture also delved into the role of immunohistochemistry and molecular techniques in confirming diagnoses and ruling out mimickers. Through illustrated case examples, Dr. Verma demonstrated how subtle histopathological variations could lead to significant differences in diagnosis and treatment strategy.

With around 15 participants in attendance, the session maintained an interactive atmosphere, enabling meaningful academic dialogue and queries from faculty and students alike.

This lecture proved to be a valuable academic experience, enhancing the diagnostic confidence of participants in identifying and differentiating giant cell lesions of bone, while also underlining the importance of advanced diagnostic modalities in modern pathology.
