The School of Science and Technology organized an insightful session on “Exploring Career Opportunities Abroad” as part of the Alumni Talk Series on 24th April 2025. The event began with a warm welcome and an introduction by Dr. Pramod Kumar, Principal of SST, who highlighted the importance of education in transcending geographical boundaries. He encouraged students to proactively seek global opportunities to advance their academic and professional goals.
The session featured Mr. Siddhant Rajhans, an alumnus of the 2019–2023 B.Tech batch, currently pursuing his M.S. in Machine Learning at Stevens Institute of Technology, USA. He shared his personal journey from SRHU to studying abroad and provided detailed insights into the overseas application process. He discussed critical components such as selecting the right universities, preparing for standardized tests like GRE and TOEFL, and crafting impactful Statements of Purpose (SOPs) and Letters of Recommendation (LORs).
Mr. Rajhans also emphasized the rising global demand for professionals skilled in artificial intelligence and data science, urging students to stay updated with evolving technological trends. Furthermore, he stressed the significance of contributing to climate change solutions and engaging in socially responsible research and innovation.
With 84 participants, the session proved highly motivating and informative. Students gained clarity on various aspects of international education and career planning, including overcoming common challenges like visa processes, financial planning, and cultural adjustments. The event fostered a broader perspective, encouraging students to think globally and prepare strategically for their future. It also strengthened alumni engagement, offering mentorship opportunities for current students. Overall, the session successfully inspired students to pursue excellence, innovate responsibly, and embrace global career opportunities.
