The Himalayan College of Nursing, Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), organized an International Symposium on July 9, 2025, titled “Adapting to the Evolving COVID-19 Landscape: New Variants & Strategies.” The event brought together healthcare professionals, academicians, and experts from diverse disciplines and geographies to discuss recent developments related to COVID-19—particularly the rise of new variants and the strategies needed to address them.

The symposium was coordinated by the faculty of Himalayan College of Nursing and featured renowned speakers from national and international institutions, including representation from NHS England. Experts from the fields of microbiology, public health, clinical care, nursing, and telemedicine provided a comprehensive and interdisciplinary perspective on the evolving pandemic landscape.

Key objectives of the symposium included exploring the clinical impact of recent variants, understanding their influence on public health policies, updating strategies for prevention and patient care, and adapting nursing practices to better meet emerging challenges. The event was attended by 170 students and 20 faculty members, who benefited from insightful sessions, real-life case studies, and interactive discussions.

The symposium achieved notable outcomes such as enhanced awareness, practical learning through telehealth case examples, and cross-border knowledge exchange. Pre- and post-assessments were conducted to evaluate learning outcomes, while participant feedback reflected a high level of satisfaction and engagement. The event not only deepened understanding of COVID-19’s evolving nature but also empowered attendees to translate this knowledge into improved clinical and community practices.
