“Introduction to Data Science: From Data to Decisions” Organized by the School of Science & Technology, SRHU
The School of Science & Technology (SST) at Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) organized an insightful seminar on “Introduction to Data Science: From Data to Decisions.” The session aimed to provide students with a foundational understanding of Data Science concepts, including data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization, and to highlight the importance of data in making informed, evidence-based decisions.
The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, Dean, School of Science & Technology, SRHU. The resource person, Ms. Shefali Khatri, Assistant Professor, SST, SRHU, delivered an engaging presentation explaining the end-to-end data science workflow from problem formulation to actionable insights. Students were introduced to popular tools and technologies such as Python, R, and basic machine learning concepts, helping them understand how data is transformed into meaningful information that drives modern industries.
The seminar was highly interactive, with students participating actively through discussions and Q&A sessions. Real-world examples from healthcare, business, and technology sectors demonstrated how data science is revolutionizing industries and creating new opportunities for innovation and research.
The resource person also encouraged students to explore career and research opportunities in the growing field of Data Science, emphasizing the importance of analytical thinking and continuous learning in today’s data-driven world.
