HSMS Hosts Guest Lecture on Goal Setting with NLP

On April 11, 2025, the Himalayan School of Management Studies (HSMS), Swami Rama Himalayan University, organized a compelling guest lecture titled “Goal Setting with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)” for students of MBA, BBA VI, and B.Com VI semesters. The session was conducted by Ms. Nandita Mittal, Learning & Development Facilitator at Capital City College Group, London, and Co-founder of AmPower. With her expertise as an NLP practitioner, Ms. Mittal guided students through techniques to enhance clarity, confidence, and goal-oriented thinking.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Mohit Verma, Principal, HSMS, who underlined the relevance of mindset-based learning in achieving personal and professional goals. Ms. Mittal’s session was engaging and experiential, encouraging students to explore the connection between thoughts, language, and behaviours. She shared methods to identify limiting beliefs, use visualization and anchoring for motivation, and reframe internal narratives for personal growth. Her explanation of how to set SMART goals using NLP tools resonated deeply with the students.

Students participated in self-reflection exercises, where they assessed their own thought patterns and challenges in achieving clarity. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, Ms. Mittal helped them shift from fixed to growth-oriented mindsets. The session also included a vibrant Q&A where students asked about the applications of NLP in leadership, stress management, and professional development. Ms. Mittal provided practical insights, encouraging students to proactively manage their inner dialogue and emotions.

This lecture proved to be a meaningful step in the holistic development journey of HSMS students. It equipped them with psychological tools that go beyond the traditional curriculum, fostering resilience, motivation, and a strong sense of purpose.
