Report on IEEE PreXtreme 18.0

Published on: September 21, 2024

On 21st September 2024, the Himalayan School of Science and Technology (HSST) successfully organized the IEEE PreXtreme 18.0 competition in Computer Lab-6. The event featured active participation from three teams consisting of IEEE student members from HSST. This competition served as a preparatory event for the globally renowned IEEE Xtreme competition, where students worldwide compete to solve algorithmic challenges under strict time pressure.

The main objective of IEEE PreXtreme 18.0 was to prepare students for the IEEE Xtreme challenge by enhancing their algorithmic thinking and coding efficiency under time constraints. The event provided a hands-on, competitive environment to simulate real-world problem-solving scenarios, aiming to build confidence, foster teamwork, and strengthen technical skills ahead of the main IEEE Xtreme competition.

With nine participants taking part, the event was a highly successful and enriching experience. Students sharpened their coding skills and problem-solving abilities in a timed, competitive setting. Additionally, the competition promoted collaboration and technical growth among the IEEE student members, providing valuable hands-on experience with real-time coding challenges.
