Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Jolly Grant, through its School of Management Studies, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), Mumbai, to enhance financial education and career-oriented training for students. The collaboration is aimed at equipping students with professional skills and a deeper understanding of global financial markets.
The MoU was formally signed by SRHU Registrar Commander Challa Venkateshwara (Retd.) and Ms. Barkha Nigam from NISM. Under this partnership, students will gain opportunities to pursue professional certification programmes in areas such as derivatives, mutual funds, investment advisory, research analysis, portfolio management services, merchant banking, and the fundamentals of securities markets.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor of SRHU, Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, said that this collaboration will help students move beyond conventional classroom learning and prepare them to become industry-ready professionals. He noted that association with NISM will enable students to gain practical insights into financial markets, opening up better employment prospects and encouraging entrepreneurship and informed investment practices.
Dr. Dobhal further added that the initiative will also include Faculty Development Programmes, which will enhance the knowledge and professional capabilities of faculty members. This will help strengthen the quality of teaching and ensure that the curriculum remains aligned with evolving industry requirements.
Faculty members from the School of Management Studies, including Dr. Taruna Gautam, Dr. Rajneesh Klair, and Dr. Apoorv Trivedi, were also present on the occasion.
