Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) observed World Water Day 2026 through a series of meaningful activities that reflected the institution’s commitment to water conservation, sustainability, and social inclusion. The programme was organized in alignment with this year’s global theme, “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows,” highlighting the crucial link between equitable water access and social development.
The event brought together students, faculty members, and staff to deliberate on the importance of responsible water management and its role in promoting dignity, health, and empowerment, particularly for women and marginalized communities. Expert lectures and discussions focused on Water and Gender Equality, emphasizing how safe and equitable access to water resources strengthens community well-being.
The programme also included insightful deliberations on Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), encouraging sustainable approaches to water conservation and governance. Participatory activities further engaged attendees, fostering awareness about responsible water usage and community-driven conservation efforts.
A Poster Presentation Competition allowed students to creatively express ideas on water conservation, sustainable development, and equality. Participants also collectively took a Water Pledge, committing to responsible water use, promoting equitable access, and strengthening community participation in water management.
The observance reaffirmed that water is not merely a natural resource, but a vital foundation for public health, equality, and sustainable development, inspiring participants to contribute towards a more inclusive and water-secure future.
