SRHU Teachers’ Day Celebration
Teachers’ Day, celebrated on 5th of September every year in honor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, was enthusiastically observed across all Constituent Academic Units under Swami Rama Himalayan University. The day served as an opportunity for students to express gratitude towards their teachers for their invaluable contributions to education and personal development.
The celebration began with the welcome of guests, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional tilak. This was followed by the auspicious Lamp Lighting Ceremony and Guru Vandana, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the pursuit of knowledge. Dean/ Principals of the Schools appreciated the efforts of students and faculty in organizing the event and underlined the role of teachers as lifelong guides and mentors.
The celebration includes “Guess the Teacher” Quiz, “Who Said This?” Rapid Fire, Memory Lane (Students), Memory Lane (Teachers), Mentora, Dance Performances by students, Student Choice Awards – Fun awards such as Trendsetter Award, Dialogue King/Queen Award, Walking Encyclopaedia Award, Hasi ka Pitara Award, Sleep Detector Award, Blackboard Artist Award, Classroom Magician Award, Students’ Bestie Award, and Proxy Police Award were presented to teachers, based on anonymous student voting. Specially designed certificates were awarded, adding humor and joy to the event.
A special cake-cutting ceremony was also organized to celebrate the spirit of Teacher’s Day, creating moments of joy and togetherness among faculty and students.
Students also shared personal stories and words of appreciation, which reflected the deep respect and admiration they hold for their mentors. As a token of love, handmade cards, flowers, and thoughtful mementos were presented, leaving the teachers touched and overwhelmed.
The Teachers’ Day celebrations across the university were conducted with great enthusiasm, creativity, and reverence. The events reinforced the deep bond between students and teachers and served as a reminder of the vital role educators play in shaping society.
The University expresses heartfelt appreciation to all faculty members and commends the student community for organizing memorable celebrations.
