Three-Day Patent Awareness Program at SRHU

Published on: November 27, 2025

Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) organized a three-day Patent Awareness Program from 25–27 November 2025 to strengthen its intellectual property ecosystem and encourage patent filing across all schools. Experts from M/s Akhildev IPR and Research Services, Noida conducted interactive sessions in seven schools and HCIE, focusing on patent filing procedures, drafting essentials, and identifying patentable subject matter. The sessions clarified PCT filing pathways, commercialization processes, grace periods, and non-patentability conditions such as software per se. Faculty and researchers were guided on preparing Information Disclosure Forms (IDFs), documenting innovations, and converting research questions & outcomes into patentable matter. Specialized discussions were held on pharmaceutical innovations, traditional knowledge, management processes, and start-ups prototypes. Participants received tailored guidance on novelty
assessment, technology transfer, and selecting appropriate IP protection. The program resulted in increased awareness, improved engagement from scholars, and reinforced leadership support for integrating IP creation into academic activities, thereby strengthening SRHU’s patent portfolio.
