World Anaemia Day

On the occasion of World Anaemia Day, an awareness programme was organized in the Pediatric Ward of Himalayan Hospital with the objective of educating patients and their attendants about anaemia. The event was conducted through a poster competition and role-play presentations aimed at spreading awareness about the condition.

The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Hem Chandra, Director of Hospital Services; Dr. Anil Rawat, Head of the Department of Pediatrics; Dr. Alpa Gupta, Professor, Department of Pediatrics; Dr. Purnima Upreti, Professor, Department of Gynaecology; Ms. Reena Habil, Nursing Superintendent; Ms. Jaibunnisha, Deputy Nursing Superintendent; and Mrs. Namrata Pundir from the Himalayan College of Nursing.

During the session, the speakers shared their insights on anaemia, highlighting its causes, symptoms, preventive measures, and available treatment options. Special emphasis was laid on anaemia during pregnancy and the importance of early diagnosis and timely management to prevent complications.

Certificates were awarded to the winners of the poster competition in recognition of their efforts. Nursing students further reinforced the awareness message through an informative role-play performance for patients and their attendants.

The programme concluded with an engaging interactive activity that witnessed enthusiastic participation from patients and their caregivers, making the event both informative and impactful.
