World Population Day 2025 Observed with Community Outreach and Competitions

The Department of Community Medicine at Himalayan Hospital, SRHU organized a series of events from July 9 to 12, 2025, to mark World Population Day. The initiatives aimed to raise awareness about population stabilization and the responsible use of resources.

For MBBS students, an online reel-making competition was conducted, while a debate and poster-making competition was held at Bullawala Inter College. Shivani Shahi secured the first position in the debate competition, and Tanu Sharma won the poster competition. Dr. Vidisha Vallabh distributed prizes to the winners and participants, appreciating their enthusiastic involvement.

Dr. Jayanti Semwal and Dr. Ashok Srivastava addressed the students, highlighting the challenges of a growing population and shrinking natural resources. To further spread public awareness, health education sessions and video streaming were organized at UHTC Kurkawala, RHTC Gohri Mafi, and CHC Doiwala during the same period. Dr. Surbhi Mishra and Dr. Mitisha Rustagi motivated the general public to contribute to building a healthier and safer world for future generations.

Through these events, the message of population stabilization and community awareness was effectively conveyed.
