The department of Pathology has been in existence for over 25 years and has accomplished faculty trained at various premier institutes of India; many of whom have been awarded International and National Fellowships from various premise scientific bodies.
Due to a unique teaching program developed by dedicated and learned faculty the department attracts best of students to pursue a career in Pathology in its Post Graduate (MD Pathology) and Undergraduate programs (MBBS) which are most sought after in the country. We also offer Paramedical degree programs (B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology, Radio Therapy, BPT/MPT, etc.)
Department of Pathology offers a wide range of investigations in Histopathology, Cytopathology, Immunopathology, Hematology, Flow-cytometry, Tissue Banking and Clinical Pathology. All the laboratories are equipped with state-of–the-art equipment and are NABL Accredited. Our Blood Bank, established in 1999, is the first NACO-accredited training centre for doctors and technicians of the state.
The faculty is deeply engaged in research activities and have presented research work based on largely unexplored population of Uttarakhand, in various international and national conferences. Several research papers and case reports are published in various International and National scientific indexed journals. We have also hosted many International/National Conferences, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Workshops over the past decades.
The department has a wealth of sophisticated equipments, instruments, teaching material and a specimen museum which houses common and rare cases operated in our institute. We provide hands-on training to UG and PG students and encourage development of a scientific vision amongst the students. We have a rich library with hundreds of specialized books and subscription to various international/national journals.
In addition to Medical, we also offer Paramedical degree programs (BSc Medical Lab Technology, Radio Therapy, BPT/MPT, etc.)
