International Yoga Day Celebrated with enthusiasm at SRHU
SRHU celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with a series of vibrant events. On this occasion, students from Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Biosciences, Yoga Sciences, Nursing, and Medical streams, along with faculty members and doctors, participated in a collective yoga session.
The celebration began at SRHU’s Mother Teresa Auditorium with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the portrait of Dr. Swami Rama. The Hon’ble President of SRHU, Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, graced the event as the chief guest. He stated that yoga is a science that calms the mind by removing its disturbances. In today’s fast-paced life, everyone is affected by some level of stress, he said. With regular yoga practice, not only can stress and depression be relieved, but it also fosters physical, mental, and intellectual development. He urged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine.
A workshop on “Yoga for Health” was also organized as part of the celebration. During the session, Dr. Subodh from the Department of Yoga Sciences guided participants through various yogic practices.
The workshop was attended by Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Ashok Deorari, Dr. Prakash Keshaviah, Dr. Renu Dhasmana Deans and Principals from all the constituent academic units of SRHU.
