Today (Thursday), Padma Shri Dr. H.R. Nagendra, former advisor to Prime Minister Modi, will visit SRHU, Jolly Grant.

Various programs will be organized at Swami Rama Himalayan University, Jolly Grant, in celebration of International Yoga Day.

Dr. H.R. Nagendra will deliver a lecture on "Integrated Medicine", with participation from students and faculty.

On June 21, various yoga camps will be organized by the Himalayan School of Yoga Sciences.

A special lecture by Dr. H.R. Nagendra is being organized as part of the various programs scheduled for International Yoga Day. He will address students, faculty, and staff.

Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Vice-Chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Jolly Grant, announced that various programs will be held at the university on June 21 in celebration of International Yoga Day. As part of this series of events, Padma Shri awardee Dr. H.R. Nagendra, former advisor to Prime Minister Modi, will arrive at the university on June 20. He will present a lecture on "Integrated Medicine" at the Adi-Kailash Auditorium at 2:30 PM, with participation from students, research scholars, faculty, and physicians.

About Dr. H.R. Nagendra?

Dr. H.R. Nagendra is an Indian mechanical engineer, yoga therapist, academician, author, and the Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bengaluru. He has also served as a personal advisor and yoga instructor to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has awarded him the title "Yoga Shri". He has authored 35 books and over 100 research papers on yoga. In 2016, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his contributions to society. Nagendra has also served as the convener of the UGC Chairman Selection Committee.

Extensive Preparations by Himalayan School of Yoga Sciences

Dr. Ajay Dubey, Principal of the Himalayan School of Yoga Sciences (HSYS), stated that extensive preparations have been made to ensure the success of the International Yoga Day programs. Various committees have been formed at the college level. The college will organize programs for Yoga Day at the university campus, as well as at Sky Garden on Ring Road, Dehradun, Hotel Hyatt, IPCA Lab, and Eureka Forbes and U-Flex in Lal Tappad.
