This course is common for the students undergoing clinical specialty-II in neuroscience / cardiovascular & thoracic / critical care / oncology / orthopaedic & rehabilitation / nephrology & urology / gastroenterology and geriatric nursing. The program is designed to assist students in developing expertise and in depth knowledge in Medical Surgical Nursing. Students specializing in Medical Surgical Nursing will be able to prepare a design for layout & management of Medical-Surgical units, perform physical, psychosocial assessment of patients with Medical-Surgical conditions,describe various recent technologies & treatment modalities in the management of patients. In addition, it will train students to function as a specialized Medical-Surgical nurse, besides taking up the roles of teacher, administrator and researcher in the field of Medical-Surgical Nursing.
