Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences Shines in World Health Day Quiz

In a significant development aimed at fostering innovation and technology transfer, Biotech Consortium India Ltd. (BCIL) and Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU) have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to collaborate on the transfer and commercialization of intellectual properties (IPs) and technologies developed at SRHU. The MoU was signed on 29 March 2024

Under the agreement, BCIL, a company promoted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, will work closely with SRHU to identify promising technologies and facilitate their transfer to suitable companies in India and abroad for translation and commercialization.

Dr. Purnima Sharma, Managing Director of BCIL, emphasized the importance of robust IP management and public-private partnerships in driving innovation and economic growth. She expressed confidence in the partnership's potential to create new opportunities for industry collaboration and technology commercialization.

Dhairya Madan, Rishu Tiwari and Tushan Kumar of MBBS Batch 2020 from Himalayan Institute have aced the quiz competition centered around the theme of World Health Day.

The impressive win saw them claim the Top spot across Uttarakhand and secure a place amongst top 5 of total 42 participating Institutes in both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (UK).

The competition, organized by Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) aimed to raise awareness about crucial public health issues.

The Himalayan Institute students' deep understanding of the topic and their competitive spirit have brought them well-deserved recognition under the guidance of Dr. Abhay Srivastava (Nodal Officer) and Dr. A.K. Srivastava, HOD Dept. Of Community Medicine. Dr. Shaili Vyas is the State Nodal Officer IAPSM, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand.
