Wildlife Week Celebration 2024
SRHU Literary and Fine Arts Committee in collaboration with Wildlife Preservation Society (Dehradun) Celebrated Wildlife Week from 2-8 Oct 2024 at Swami Rama Himalayan University, Jolly Grant, Dehradun. The Events were conducted for Under-graduate and Post-Graduate Students, Faculty and Staff of various constituent Colleges of SRHU.
Events conducted were:
Wildlife Photography Competition:- – open to UG / PG students, Faculty and Staff
Wildlife Photography Competition – open to UG / PG students and Children of Faculty and Staff
In all, there were 41 Entries for Photography and 21 Entries for Painting Competition.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SRHU, Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, inaugurated the Exhibition of submitted entries in the Boys Common Hall, HIMS building at 3pm on 8.10.2024. The Results were declared and Prize Distribution Ceremony was held. In Students category, Mr Ayravind, Intern MBBS got First Prize in Photography. In Faculty category, Dr Rakesh Kumar, Asst Professor, Pediatrics got First Prize. In Painting, Ms. Nikita Tamta of HIMS got First Prize. Ms Aruna Arora of MBBS was awarded an impromptu Cash Prize of Rs 1000/- by Hon’ble VC SRHU for her sketch of lion couple.
This was followed by Hon’ble VC’s address to the audience, encouraging the students to participate in more such activities and connect with nature. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr Dushyant Singh Gaur, Chairman of Literary Committee. Prof. Sanjoy Das, Head Forensic Dept. conducted the event. Dr. Pragya Tripathi, Dr Garima Mittal and other doctors, faculty and students of SRHU attended the event.
‘YOUNITE’ Students’ volunteer group helped in setting up the Wildlife Exhibition displaying all entries at Boys Common Room, HIMS building under guidance and supervision of Dr Sanjoy Das and Dr Dushyant Singh Gaur. The Exhibition will remain open for public till Monday 14th October 2024.
