HSST Orientation Program, Swami Rama Himalayan University

In the ongoing Orientation program, on day 5, i.e. on 5th of August 2023, Himalayan School Of Science and Technology organized one day educational tour for the students of B.Tech, BCA, B.Sc (Data Science) to visit the renowned Forest Research Institute (FRI) Dehradun. The primary objective of this trip was to provide students with a practical understanding of forestry, environmental conservation, and scientific research. The FRI visit aimed to enhance students' knowledge, appreciation, and awareness of our natural resources and the importance of sustainable practices.

Prior to the field trip, detailed planning and arrangements were made under the guidance of Prof (Dr.) Vinay Avasthi (Officiating Principal, HSST).

The FRI visit was an enriching experience that included a range of educational activities and interactive sessions. Students were divided into groups and assigned knowledgeable guides from FRI. These guides provided insightful information about the institute's history, research areas, and its role in forestry and environmental conservation. The FRI Museum showcased a diverse collection of flora, fauna, and exhibits related to forestry practices. Students had the opportunity to learn about different tree species, wildlife, and the tools used in forest management.

The educational field trip to Forest Research Institute was a resounding success in terms of achieving its objectives. Students left the institute with a newfound appreciation for nature, a greater understanding of forest ecosystems, and a heightened sense of environmental consciousness.
