HIMS Jolly Grant Students and Doctors hold a protest march, express solidarity with nationwide protest against heinous killing of Kolkata Doctor
In protest against the incident of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, students of the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jolly Grant, and the Himalayan College of Nursing, along with doctors from the Himalayan Hospital, jointly organized a rally.
On Saturday, at 10 AM, thousands of medical, paramedical, and nursing students, along with doctors and faculty, gathered near the Shaurya Wall in the campus of Swami Rama Himalayan University, Jolly Grant. The doctors and medical students held a rally demanding justice for the victim. Carrying placards and raising slogans, they marched in protest from the campus to Durga Chowk, Bhaniyawala. During the protest, the doctors and students demanded the creation of strict laws to prevent such incidents from recurring and urged for swift justice for the victim's family. They expressed concern that daughters today feel unsafe and called for the government to take immediate action in this direction. In the same context, a candle march was also held at 6:30 PM.
